Mama loosed her
poor latency deficient children
into the 4v4 HPB league under
the watchful eye of Sickbag who
would guide the team to an undefeated
championship. Salem would hang
up his hat as the leader of the
baggie crew, Corwin stepped up
to the plate and took over the
team. To top the month off the
OGL team defended their number
2 spot on the OGL ladder against
Crew77.
The action would heat up a little
in August as Mama would venture
into unfamiliar territory to take
on Kray in the real mode death
match league, after a tough battle
the team emerged with another
victory stuffed up their jumpers.
Mama would then repeat this performance
against PHX, RW and BR to give
their RMDM aspirations a good
kickstart. Another Stinger entered
the fold, this time he would turn
out to be a resident of the UK.
September and the new season kicked
off in good fashion with a fine
victory over BR. During the match
a fine player was noticed in the
BR team and after some light cajoling
by Salem Mama welcomed its newest
player Ripper. PHX would be next
up to take a pop at the reigning
champs, but the opportunity seemed
to evade them. RW had more luck
winning one of the 2 matches but
losing overall on frag difference.
October would turn out to be a
so-so month for Mama. Not even
defeating K could take the tarnish
of losing our first ever 6v6 match
to the toughest team faced in
Season 2. UW took the well deserved
win. BR would also break another
of Mamas long running winning
streaks as the 4v4 HPB team folded
under the pressure of a second
run for the title. Although not
all of BRs' happenings were happy
and rosey as they took something
of a pounding by the LPB team
in the LPB 4v4 division. Collecting
the 6v6 title again kind of put
the smiles back on the teams'
faces.
The world stopped turning for
a month in November. Well maybe
not, but nothing really happened
on the Mama front.
The never ending task of defending
the 6v6 title began once again
in December. SPK were to get the
short end of the 'spankstick'
in their match with the reigning
champs.
Also Firepunk and Havok signed
up with the Mama allied forces
team to swell our US ranks a little.
Mi and GBH fell foul of the bagman
team as Mama push the boundaries
of Kingpin ownage.
The fourth 6v6 season continued
through January and March of 2001
to a closely contested conclusion
with UW (who over the last 2 seasons
proved to be the biggest problem
for Mama). However once again
the team pulled together and scored
the win ending the season on top
as the result of frag difference.
The baggie team had their first
official encounter with CGF and
managed to slap down all of their
critics on the bagman scene by
taking the match with a huge cash
difference. Once again the Mama
roster swelled with the addition
of another of Salems and Sickbags
old running buddies from Sync
- Castor Troy.
Mama now stand at a branch in
the road of their evolution. The
general feeling is that as time
goes on Kingpin will not be able
to support the weight of Mama
and it has been suggested that
other avenues of growth should
be investigated. The saga of Ya
Mama will continue, so check back
here occasionally to see what
we have achieved and how we achieved
it.
